Getting Started
This page shows the simplest way to get started with Smap, using the free hosted server. There are other approaches, such as installing your own server.
Create an account on the hosted server
Using your web browser navigate to https://sg.smap.com.au. Click on the Register menu and fill in the requested details. You will need to enter your email address so that an email can be sent with a link that you can use to set your password.
Once you have set a password, log on using your email address.
Registering creates an "organisation" and within this organisation you can add additional users, projects and surveys. Only users created by you in your organisation can access your data.
Create Your First Survey
When you first log on, the survey management page is shown. Click the green Create new Form button.
Enter a name for the survey and press Create. The new empty survey opens in the editor.
Click on a question type, such as text or integer, in the question type toolbar. The question is added to the end of the survey.
Enter a label for the question, that is the text the person filling in the survey will see. Add a few more questions the same way.
Click the green Save button.
Click the blue Test button. The survey opens as a web form.
Fill in the web form and submit it.
Select Modules then Console. The record you submitted is shown in the table.

Using the Server
Your Profile
On all screens the menu at the right-hand end of the menu bar, shown as a person icon, holds your own settings. From it you can set your name, language, email address and time zone, change your password, turn on Two Factor Authentication, manage your API tokens and sign out.

Selecting a Project
On most screens you can select a project which will change the surveys and other resources that are shown on the page.
